This project began with a space needs study, existing
facility evaluation, and concept plans for remodeling.
An addition to the existing City Hall included
administrative, police, and public works offices, and
the senior center. Alternative sites and facilities
were evaluated, the City elected to build in its
historic downtown.
Recently Lodi constructed a new two-story, City Hall.
As a cornerstone for revitalizing the downtown, the
facility includes space for the City administration
(including Council Chambers), utility, public works, and
building inspection/zoning administration departments.

The facility's exterior design was adapted from historic
plans of a local Architect, Carl Menes, which were drawn
up in 1911, but never built. Unique features include a
clock tower with flag, arched topped windows, and
historic trim. Behind its traditional façade, the
facility is equipped with state of the art amenities to
better serve the community.
Vierbicher Associates, Inc. provided architectural and
engineering services, including building design, site
design, floodplain analysis, and environmental analysis.
This project was chosen for the 2003 Associated
Builders and Contractors, Inc.’s Project of Distinction
award.
