The Village of Weston, within the
Wausau Metropolitan Area, is receiving a significant
amount of development pressure as the result of the
completion of the four-lane State Trunk Highway 29,
which bisects the community and interchanges at Camp
Phillips Road and CTH J. Vierbicher Associates, Inc.
assisted the Village with the planning effort to prepare
for future growth and identify tools to support and
manage future growth.
The Village investigated using Tax
Incremental Financing (TIF) to help finance the required
infrastructure. The feasibility study included citizen
input, market analysis, land use planning,
infrastructure need analysis, TIF feasibility analysis,
master plan and ordinance review, and recommendations. A
2,000-acre Tax Increment District was created in 1998.
