The City of Reedsburg initiated a Land Records Modernization Program in 1993. They obtained a grant from the Wisconsin Land Information Program. Reedsburg’s program was designed to establish a functional land information system. The initial phase of the project included the following:

• Acquisition of Computer Hardware and Software
• GPS Survey of 36 U.S. Public Land Survey Corners
• Sauk County Coordinate Geographic Framework
• Preparation of Computerized Basemap for 3,200 Parcels Completed in 1994
• Integration of Tax Assessment Roll Information
• Preparation of Zoning, Floodplain, Wetland, and Electrical System Maps
• Creation of ESRI Shapefiles for Project Data
• On-Going Updates
• Assisting in Implementation of ARCIMS Web Map Site
