The
Village of DeForest is implementing a comprehensive
stormwater management program to address localized
funding and water quality issues. The program is being
implemented in phases and includes the following
components: |

Stormwater Master Plan

Stormwater Management Plan
-
Stormwater and Erosion Control Ordinance
-
Stormwater Utility
-
Infrastructure Improvements
|
|
The
Village has utilized public funding programs throughout
the process. The planning phases were funded with
grants from the WI Department of Natural Resources
(WDNR). Infrastructure improvements have used the WDNR
Grants and CDBG Public Facilities for Economic
Development Grant program. Tax Incremental Financing is
also being used for infrastructure improvements.
The
Village is currently planning the creation of a
Stormwater Utility.

Vierbicher Associates, Inc. has assisted the Village
throughout the program. Specific services included
grant writing, public participation, mapping, hydrologic
and hydraulic analysis, water quality analysis,
infrastructure design, ordinance development, and
utility creation. |
