Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
contaminated the Village of Dorchester’s drinking water.
One unique solution the project team provided was
decontamination of the water supply through the use of
an air-stripping tower.

- Water Treatment Facility
Feasibility Study
- A new $1.3 million, 465-gpm
water treatment facility for Well Nos. 2 and 3.
This facility included chemical feed systems, an
iron and manganese removal filter, a VOC removal
air stripping tower, and a ground reservoir with
two booster pumps.

Vierbicher Associates, Inc. assisted
the Village in obtaining a $540,500 CDBG Public
Facilities Grant and provided engineering and
architectural design and construction administration
services for the water treatment facility project. |
