Shonas Highlands |
|
Shonas Highlands is a 49-lot subdivision in the Town
of Sun Prairie. The subdivision is 161 acres, the
average lot size is 1.5 acres. It has been recognized
for its exceptional design in effectively using the Best
Management Practices to control runoff, minimize
erosion, and save costs. The Best Management Practices
include detention basins, sediment basins, drainage
diversions, as well as drainageway and slope
stabilization. Due to the close proximity to Token Creek
and the navigable waterway issues, this project required
excellent communications with Wisconsin DNR, Army
Corporation, County Government, and the Friends of Token
Creek.
Vierbicher Associates, Inc., provided complete
engineering services for the project including state and
local approvals, engineering design, storm water design,
plans and specifications, bidding and contract award,
construction services, and utility and wetland
permitting. There have been seven phases to this
project. The project began in 1993 and was completed in
2002. |
