City of Wisconsin Dells Receives
Plan Implementation Award
REEDSBURG, WI – The City of Wisconsin Dells and Vierbicher
Associates’ landscape architect Patrick Cleary, ASLA, were
recently honored with a small jurisdiction plan implementation
award by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Planning
Association (WAPA). The award was presented at the Upper
Midwest Planning Conference.
The City of Wisconsin Dells was selected as
a recipient in the small jurisdiction award category (4,999 or
smaller population). The submittal included information on
the City’s unified theme, comprehensive plan, streetscaping
improvement, and the RiverWalk. Vierbicher Associates has
provided comprehensive planning and landscape architecture
services to the City of Wisconsin Dells since 1998.
From a group of concerned business owners,
an idea was brought forward. From that idea, organization was
developed, projects were planned, funding was established, and
successful implementation occurred.
The City of Wisconsin Dells is a premier
resort and recreation destination in the upper Midwest, where
the population swells to 50,000 seasonally. Pedestrian
pathways and bicycle lanes now link long standing commercial
development assets to the area’s unique natural resource
amenities.
