Becker Elected to Rural Partners Board
MADISON,
WI
– Gary Becker, CEcD, community and economic development
consultant for Vierbicher Associates, Inc., has been elected
to the Wisconsin Rural Partners (WRP) board of directors.
WPR’s focus is to build rural community capacity, develop
strong rural leaders, and provide a network for rural
community support. Becker serves on the 10-member board
which meets quarterly. He has been involved in helping forge
public/private partnerships and focuses on using community
development tools.
In
addition to his service to WRP, Becker serves on the board
of directors of the Wisconsin Economic Development
Association, and serves on the advisory council for the
Small Business Development Center. He is a member of the
International Economic Development Council, and affiliated
with Downtown Madison, Inc. and the Wisconsin Downtown
Action Council. He has a master’s degree in urban and
regional planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
