Community Development Consultant – Reedsburg Office

Our Reedsburg, WI office is now hiring a Community Development Consultant. The Community Development Consultant is responsible in discovering and processing funding programs for local government, county, state, and private infrastructure and development projects. This will include identifying strategies for funding project through the available programs and building relationships with key stakeholders in the community.

Main Responsibilities Include

  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, including government agencies and other local businesses; cultivate relationships with existing businesses to promote growth and retention of those businesses in the communities served
  • Research and become familiar with funding programs tailored to funding municipal infrastructure projects including transportation, recreational, utility, building, and other economic development projects
  • Assist Clients to prepare and process applications for various funding programs
  • Research, compile, and draft information for grant proposals and provide necessary reporting and tracking for various grant awarding agencies
  • Develop sources and uses of funding to apply to the various project components
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of Tax Incremental Financing plans
  • Assist communities with the appropriate expenditure of funds received through grants by providing administration of such grants
  • Work with engineering staff to prepare information required for funding applications and implementation of the funding throughout the design and construction of the project
  • Public present funding related strategies and updates at community government meetings
  • Promote a positive image of the company by representing the company at professional meetings, workshops, seminars, and conferences; establish and maintain credible relations with community development, emergency services and management, and other governmental entities and professional organizations

We are looking for candidates who have a working knowledge of local government and development planning concepts, understand zoning and ordinances, have strong communication skills, and who can publicly speak effectively at local meetings. This candidate should have great listening skills and also be motivated research information for clients.
