Last week the Wisconsin Dept. of Administration posted the new CDBG Community Development application forms for public facility grants and planning grants on their website – //doa.wi.gov/section.asp?linkid=242&locid=173. Planning grant applications will be accepted on a continual basis, but the Public Facilities grant applications are accepted on an annual basis. The next deadline for Public Facilities grants is September 13, 2013. Applicants should begin working on their application in July in order to complete the documentation by the deadline.
The DOA also posted new interagency guidelines for the preparation of preliminary engineering reports. Also, be aware that the CDBG funds available from the DOA are for non-entitlement communities only. If you are an entitlement community or located in a County that receives CDBG funds directly from the Federal government and have opted into those funds, you may not be eligible to apply for the DOA CDBG funds.
