Project Description

Fireman’s Park is located in the downtown district of the Village of DeForest. The park originally consisted of a 5.6-acre complex including three ball fields and two outdated shelters. Vierbicher worked with Village Staff and a landscape architecture firm over the course of several years to prepare a redevelopment plan for the park.

Implementation of the redevelopment plan began in 2017 and was built out in phases. The overall project included the addition of a splash pad, performance shelter, concession building, playground area, and basketball and pickleball courts. The project also included additional amenities such as a pedestrian trail network, traffic calming measures, parking areas, and board game tables.

In our role as Village Engineer, Vierbicher assisted in the coordination of all aspects of the project through design and construction. Vierbicher completed the site civil design components, including stormwater management and permitting of the improvements.
