Project Description

The extension of Central Park Place will provide opportunities for development of the Nine Springs area of Fitchburg. The extension included completion of E. Cheryl Parkway and Greenmarket Place which closes the southern loop of the streets. Central Park Place included a crossing of the Wisconsin Southern Railroad. This crossing will allow a future crossing to be closed to the north at West Clayton Road. The improvement also included a roundabout and extension of sanitary sewer and water mains that will provide services for the adjacent developments. Some specific project activities included:

  • Development of several Certified Survey Maps to acquire property needed for the roadway right-of-way
  • Installation of an 8’ X 4’ box culvert
  • Installation of a bike/pedestrian path
  • Coordination with multiple property owners
  • Development of deed restrictions to delay sewer assessment fees until development occurs
  • Coordination with the Wisconsin Southern Railroad
  • Coordination with the ACOE and the WDNR to allow Central Park Place to cross existing wetlands
  • Coordination with the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District
