Sparta Water Supply & Distribution System Upgrades

Project Description

The City of Sparta has made numerous improvements to their water system to meet growing demands and to replace deficient facilities. These projects include:

  • New 800-gallon per minute (gpm) well No. 9 with an iron filtration pressure filter.
  • New 600,000-gallon elevated water spheroid tank and upgrading of the City’s water distribution system.
  • New 800-gpm iron filtration pressure filter for Well No. 4.
  • New 1,300-gpm water treatment plant for wells No. 6 and No. 7 for iron and manganese removal.
  • Numerous upgrades to the water distribution system.

The improvements have been funded through a combination of revenue bonds, tax incremental financing, and grants.
