Golden Ponds

Golden Ponds is a charming community addition to Westbridge, located in Waunakee’s northwestern corridor. The addition is surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots of greenspace, offering more private yards and peaceful views of nature. All of the homesites are fully improved with municipal water, sewer and high-speed internet.

A unique aspect of this development was the ambitious project of relocating a family of ditches that meandered through its picturesque landscape. The ditches were remnants of a bygone era when the land was utilized for agriculture, and the current development prompted the decision to relocate these ditches.

The project involved careful planning to ensure the stream’s health and continuity as it is rerouted, as well as the establishment of wetland mitigation areas to counterbalance the environmental impact. The once-farmland on the edge of the property is being transformed into a modern, thriving neighborhood, which emphasizes the importance of sustainable development and conservation.
