Project Description

The Village of DeForest is implementing a comprehensive stormwater management program to address localized flooding and water quality issues. The program is being implemented in phases and includes the following components:

  • Stormwater Master Plan
  • Stormwater Management Plan
  • Stormwater Quality Modeling (SLAMM)
  • Stormwater and Erosion Control Ordinance
  • Stormwater Utility Development
  • Infrastructure Improvements

The Village has utilized public funding programs throughout the process. The planning phases were funded with grants from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). Infrastructure improvements have used the WDNR Grants, CDBG program, Tax Incremental Financing and Stormwater Utility revenue.

Vierbicher has assisted the Village throughout the program. Specific services included grant writing, public participation, mapping, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, water quality analysis using SLAMM, infrastructure design, ordinance development and utility creation.
