Location:
The Madison Public Market is a city-owned, two-story, multipurpose facility designed to support local food producers, artisans, and small businesses while serving as a year-round community destination. Located on Madison’s east side, the project was developed in partnership with an adjacent mixed-use development and reflects the City’s commitment to economic development, sustainability, and public gathering spaces.
A key feature of the project was the incorporation of small bioretention basins throughout the site to manage stormwater in a sustainable and visually integrated way. These biobasins were carefully coordinated with the overall site layout to balance environmental performance, regulatory requirements, and the public-facing nature of the market, enhancing both function and aesthetics while supporting long-term site resiliency.
Vierbicher provided Civil Engineering and Land Surveying services for the Madison Public Market. Our scope included stormwater management and utility design, along with comprehensive surveying services for the City of Madison, including an ALTA survey, Certified Survey Map (CSM), and condominium plat. Our work supported site approvals, permitting, and long-term ownership and development needs for this high-profile public project.
